Corporate Overview
POWERLINKS TRANSMISSION LIMITED (PTL) is a joint venture between the Tata Power Company Limited (51%) and Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (49%). It is the testimony of a pioneering Public-Private Partnership (PPP) in the transmission sector in India. The company was formed with a sole objective of setting up a transmission line between Siliguri in West Bengal to Mandola in Uttar Pradesh (near New Delhi), covering a distance of 1166 kms. The project was completed within the schedule time and cost that was estimated at the start of project execution.
The Project is in successful commercial operation since 2006.
